For many years this practice has provided patients with a free travel immunisation service on demand. Our practice has requested patients to give a minimum of six weeks notice where possible for any travel immunisations required under this service. This is because our nurses are fully committed to the clinical requirements of our patients and it is not appropriate to give priority to patients requiring travel immunisation over those requiring treatment. Due to greatly increased nursing workloads we can no longer guarantee the facility of allocating nurse appointments for short notice travel requirements.
Patients now requiring travel immunisations at less than six weeks notice are advised to check with the surgery whether a short notice appointment is available but must be prepared to contact one of the organisations currently providing commercial service if we cannot meet your requirement in time (see below).
The Surgery has a full stock of all vaccines and can give full guidance on health matters relating to travel abroad and long haul flights etc.
Our practice nurses have up-to-date information and would be delighted to discuss your individual requirements.
Please note that some vaccinations will incur a fee, these can be viewed on our Fee's/Private Services pages. If you require a Yellow Fever vaccination, and are not a registered patient at the Glastonbury Surgery, you will need to complete a form which can be downloaded by clicking here. Your GP will need to complete part of the form, so please remember to allow sufficient time for them to do this, and for you to collect it prior to your appointment with us. If you do not have a completed form with you at the time of your appointment, we will not be able to provide you with the vaccination. |
