Gifts & Hospitality

Glastonbury Surgery has a clear policy that gives direction and guidance for staff and the requirements regarding the following:

  • The giving of gifts which do not form part of an employee’s terms and conditions of employment
  • The receipt of gifts or hospitality from a patient, family members, friends or contractors
  • The requirement for a Gift Register both for employers and for received gifts

Every individual who provides a service at the surgery is responsible for maintaining its reputation and a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and has a responsibility to uphold this policy. Furthermore, all are to be committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. This is to be achieved by always acting professionally and honestly.

Our contract with the NHS requires us to keep a register of gifts or hospitality that exceed £100.00 and are gifted by, or on behalf of a patient, a relative of a patient, or any person who provided or would like to provide services to Glastonbury Surgery or its patients in connection with the surgery.
