Chlamydia is a very common sexually transmitted infection that often doesn’t cause any symptoms but can lead to chronic pain and infertility if not treated. At least 1 in 10 people have it in Somerset. We are encouraging young people between the ages of 15 and 24, who have ever had sex, to pick up a kit. You can ask for one at reception, the Young Persons Clinic, or when you see your GP or the Practice Nurses. It involves a swab or urine sample for the girls and a urine sample for the boys. The kits come with full instructions and you just return the completed kit to the surgery.
